Hector Harkness is a live experience and theatre director, and Associate Artist of Punchdrunk. Most recently he directed Gorillaz: House of Kong, a music exhibition experience with Damon Albarn and Jamie Hewlett’s animated band, and co-directed Viola’s Room for Punchdrunk, which had sell-out runs in London and currently New York.
As a core member of Punchdrunk’s directing team his work includes The Third Day (a live tv experience with Sky/HBO), The Drowned Man: A Hollywood Fable (London), The Duchess of Malfi (with English National Opera), Sleep No More (London,Boston, NYC), and McQueen at London Fashion Week. He has created cross-platform, digital, and virtual reality experiences including Rihanna’s ANTIdiaRY album campaign, Silverpoint (an app game meets live experience, throughout London) and the car-based thrillers The Night Chauffeur and The Black Diamond. He conceived Believe Your Eyes, a live/VR experience (Silver Lion at Cannes, subsequently appearing in London, New York, Miami, Montreal and Venice), an experiential party for hit TBS/HBO show Search Party (New York), and an augmented-reality experience for the FX show Legion at Comic-Con San Diego.
Other recent collaborations include an epic mystery show with Hèrmes, and One Night, Long Ago, an intimate encounter in a forgotten London office block.
